July is Prevention Month at COSS

International Self-Care
Every 24th of July, the International Self-Care Day is celebrated, aiming to raise awareness about the importance of caring for our physical and mental health, promoting healthy lifestyles and disease prevention.
At COSS, we join this movement by making July Prevention Month. Because regular visits to the dentist, maintaining good oral hygiene, and a diet that promotes dental health are key to building a consistent preventive routine and enjoying a strong, lasting smile.
Remember, prevention is your best ally and the best investment you can make! It not only helps avoid pain and higher costs in the future, but also protects your overall health, as oral health is closely linked to overall well-being.
Don’t wait until you experience dental pain, sensitivity, or gum discomfort to care for your smile! Book your check-up now and enjoy a healthy, happy mouth. At COSS, we’re here to support you in that goal!

COSS - Fundación Apolonia Activities:
Since 2018, Fundación Apolonia, created by the founders of COSS, has aimed to improve dentistry through training and education of professionals, contributing to dental health in Chile. To achieve this, they have established partnerships with renowned dentists and universities worldwide.
On Tuesday, 22nd July, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, at the COSS La Dehesa Auditorium, Dr. Sofía Aroca, International Advisor (from France) of Fundación Apolonia, presented the interesting lecture: “Can we approach the treatment of gingival recessions in the same way as those around implants?”

Dr. Sofía Aroca holds a doctor degree from Semmelweis University in Hungary, graduated in Periodontology and Implantology from the University of Paris VII, and has received a PhD from the University of Szeged, Hungary, which awarded her an honorary professorship in 2012. She is co-founder of the 26K CCE Paris Centre for Continuing Education and Clinical Research. In 2019, she was selected as an expert to join the Osteology Council. Alongside her private practice in France, she has never ceased clinical research, educational activities, and lecturing around the world.
COSS Milestones
Dr. Jaime Charad, Dentist from the University of Chile, Medical Director and Co-founder of COSS, and Director of Fundación Apolonia, participated in the 15th International Symposium on Periodontology and Restorative Dentistry (ISPRD), held from 12th to 15th June in Boston, USA.
This is one of the world’s premier meetings, organised every three years, featuring participation from European universities (from Spain, Italy, Switzerland, and Germany) and North American institutions such as the University of Michigan, Harvard University, and the University of Pennsylvania. It featured 12 curated sessions on relevant dental topics, presented by notable speakers sharing the latest developments and innovations in interdisciplinary dentistry.

The main goal of this event is to create a space that fosters networking, mutual learning, and the pursuit of clinical excellence.
“For me, as Director of Fundación Apolonia´s Director, being in contact with scientific progress on both continents is very enriching,” emphasised Dr Charad regarding his experience at the symposium. “I would say that the most noticeable progress nowadays is in digital technology. From diagnosis to planning, both surgical and prosthetic, and its execution — almost everything is done digitally. Artificial intelligence has arrived to assist us and is here to stay,” he explained. He also highlighted another notable aspect: “prevention. Every day, we value our natural teeth more and more, aiming ideally not to have to touch them. Simply put, everything is becoming more modern and more natural.”
